-he doesn't worry
-he gives 100% to us with no expectations of reciprocity. He's 100% give with 0% expectation

Cuddly. Not afraid to show affection. Tender hearted. Treats me like a queen. Admires and revered me. Funny but appropriately. Doesn't need to prove himself. Comfortable and peaceful with himself. Authentic, real and says things how they are. Not superficial or a charmer. Honest and ethical, in business dealings, etc. out to help and lift, not rip off or take advantage of. Eternal perspective and bigger picture. Unique and different in a noble way.
Adored, respected and appreciated by his family and mine. Priorities in the right place and the proper degree.
Steel trap of a brain and memory
He's not vindictive or mean and spiteful
Rational and emotionally aware and mature
He's not negatively influenced by those around him
He's mature. He puts others needs above his own and even though he loves play and recreation he sacrifices so much of what he wants for the greater good
Pretty good control over emotions, thoughts, and words
Good and soothing with babies, fun with toddlers, and understanding with teenagers
Names and reputations are safe with him, as even when he has a truthful observation or statement, if it's not kind or necessary, he keeps it to himself. He never, ever talks evil of me.
He can be trusted with confidential and sensitive information.
He doesn’t get caught up in drama or high emotion; he keeps things simple.
He is not two-faced. What you see is what you get- everywhere. He doesn’t change depending on who he’s with. I can trust and depend on his steadiness.
He's so not into sports that he didn't even find out about yesterday's super bowl until today at work.
He doesn't watch much tv

We're both doing the very best we can, especially considering the circumstances of four young boys. We love, respect, admire, appreciate and adore each other. We both care very deeply about each other and the others happiness and wellbeing. We don't intentionally want to hurt, harm, or cause challenges for the other. Assume the very best in the other, express feelings/ needs, be slow to offense and quick to forgive.

Doesn't talk bad about people. Tried hard to say only nice things.
He has a wide variety of interests. Including many of the boys interests. There are some things that I just can't get excited about, but the boys know that when they show it to their dad, they'll get a genuine, larger than life reaction.
His energy and enthusiasm are contagious.
He genuinely enjoys life and the people in it.
He cares about others and had developed a depth in service.
He's good at those one-on-one relationships and conversations with each of the boys
He is incredibly patient with me, with my weaknesses, and with my mental illnesses.
He’s continually concerned with MY welfare & comfort.

Qualities I admire and cherish. Then and now.

50 years, looking back (What does it look like):
-Raised happy, responsible, we’ll-adjusted boys, capable of raising, protecting, loving, and providing for the families of their own.
The countless hours of service, affection, and love we’ve freely given to each other.
-The countless hours of time spent praying and studying the scriptures; in the temple, and strengthening our personal relationships with our Heavenly Father.
-The countless acts of love, forgiveness, charity, kindness, and sacrifice freely given to others.
The dates we’ve enjoyed, the weekly dates, regular getaways,
Spread unmitigated cheer and goodness.

The things we spend so much time and effort on really might not be that important.

Jan 20, 2018
Mike made James’s birthday. He accompanied James to his first Webelos powwow from 8 to 12 (and loved it, I might add). Then, he helped James fix his RC car with the second part that he previously ordered. And finally, he took James, Daniel, and Nate night skiing at Brighton (in the snow). My Man is full of energy, optimism, and love. He thinks about others and how to bring happiness and comfort into their lives. He’s this bouncy, chipper, positive, bright-eyed person— and he’s mine 💗. How very lucky am I.

1/28/18 Mike took the 3 older boys skiing yesterday. They are so lucky to have a healthy, energetic, happy, involved Dad who enjoys spending time with them and I’m so lucky to be able to stay home with Derek.
1/29/18 Mike’s been up since 3 am editing and revising his YM lesson today. It’s about magnifying callings, of which he is exemplary, with his motto being: “find an excuse to do it!”

2/21/19
The very best thing you can do for your children is to keep your covenants and to love Mike with all your heart.

He’s not uptight & he doesn’t take things or himself too seriously.

He doesn’t worry. He doesn’t worry about money, me, the boys, the economy, etc.

He has incredible faith. In the Lord, His Plan, the future, in the boys, and in himself. Things have always worked out for him and he knows they always will.

He has a long term mind set and is patient in setbacks, failure, shortcomings, and weakness. He’s not oblivious to weakness, it just doesn’t get to him.

He has a seriously good grasp on people. He can read them and he gets them. I thought I was good at this but he’s a step ahead of me.

He doesn’t read into people or situations too much. He assesses them and rather than avoiding them, he sees how he can help.

He has an innate sense of responsibility and in showing up. People can count on Mike.

He’s steady and reliable. You know what you’re going to get. And there’s no pretense. What you see is what you get.

He has this impeccable sense of direction.

He is perceptive with others and with himself. He has a good grasp on where he’s at and on what makes him tick.

He loves the Savior and is ready to serve anyone with available hands and an open heart.

He can memorize scriptures. Word for word. And his brain is able to recall them appropriately and in connection to the need.

He is generous with his resources of time, money, belongings, and mind.

Thoughts, honesty, distractions; a deep-rooted need to have things & to travel.

Thanks to Mike, we have a “Magic Sink” that magically cleans itself on a daily basis. He does 95% of the dishes in our house.

He helps so much with the boys.
He makes breakfast and feeds the boys; he even invites the boys into the kitchen to enlist their help in the process.
He leads us in daily scripture study and prayer. He helps get the boys ready for school and in bad weather, he drives them.
He fills their online lunch accounts.
He takes care of putting money in their savings accounts and manages those so well. He comes to the school for programs and events.
He helps with grocery shopping and meal prep.
He’s 99% home for dinner.
At night, he often reads to the boys and helps to tuck them in. He’ll visit with the older two and lay down with the younger two and in the middle of the night, it’s his side of the bed the boys go to.
On Saturdays he helps the boys get their chores done.

He had the vision, desire, and initiative to plan, organize, and coach a neighborhood/ quorum basketball team for James. Plus, he has the heart and the patience to execute that.
