Scriptures

Repeatedly, I am reminded of the blessings of scripture study in my life. And repeatedly, I forget and narrow sightedly place other things of more importance.

"I don’t not have time for scriptures." Derek is at school for 2 1/2 hours and I want to get this Blurb finished. 

Stuck in compiling collect blurb. Felt like i didn’t have time to set apart for bom. Didn’t get anywhere. Next morning I made it a priority to study and I had the book together in 2 hours. Things work out when we put God, prayers, scripture, and Temple first in our lives. 

What had taken me 10+ hours to figure out (not to mention that I've started trying to make this book for over a year now), with the Mike's help of taking the boys out for the evening and the internet working especially quickly and smoothly (both unique blessings), I cranked out a 300+ page blurb that I'm happy with in 2 hours.

I promise you, dear reader, and myself that as we choose to put God first in scripture study (and in time, tithing, callings, prayer, temple) that somehow and unexplainably, our time and resources are magnified to a miraculous power.

Aha:This must be how the brethren are able to accomplish so much. 

The Book of Mormon 

I feel certain that if, in our homes, parents will read from the Book of Mormon prayerfully and regularly, both by themselves and with their children, the spirit of that great book will come to permeate our homes and all who dwell therein. The spirit of reverence will increase; mutual respect and consideration for each other will grow. The spirit of contention will depart. Parents will counsel their children in greater love and wisdom. Children will be more responsive and submissive to the counsel of their parents. Righteousness will increase. Faith, hope, and charity—the pure love of Christ—will abound in our homes and lives, bringing in their wake peace, joy, and happiness. M.G.Romney
