• Mike doesn’t need to have the gift of delegation. I’m good at that. Mike has the gift of planning. Planning out all the details. Seeing an event from all angles. Plus, he enjoys it! Accentuate his gifts and don’t fixate On the ones that he doesn’t have. He doesn’t need to have every gift leader ship to be a phenomenal leader. He has enthusiasm, cheerfulness, a willingness to do it whatever is asked of him, and “he finds an excuse to do it.“ Those are some of the best skills of leadership, that I know.

Reunion with those you spent your time, means, and talents serving through family history.

There is rarely a convenient time to serve. 

• Rule of thumb: when a family moves into the neighborhood, assume that they are a dry sponge starved for human connections and friendship. They have left everything that they know and they love. They are starting from ground zero and will appreciate even the most awkward attempts of welcoming.

They are all around us, but we have to be prepared. Be ready to answer to all men the hope that is within you. Pray for opportunities and He will put someone in your path.

Bentley: the Lord bonds us together in His service. Bednar: “None of us wants covid, let’s focus on what we can do and not what we can’t.” Are we willing to cast our nets on the other side?

Taylor: let God prevail in family history and temple work, family and personal preparation, and receiving personal revelation. 

May we better train our desires.

Gotcha! From James’s ski coach:

James' skiing showed a marked improvement this session.  He is becoming more centered over his skis, where this power-position will allow him to better control his options in handling variable terrain and obstacles (think; bumps & powder, plus small cliff drops and ramp jumps including aerial maneuvers like 180s, mini-twisters and spreadies).  

Looking towards some areas of improvement, James would do well to pay even closer attention to his center-position (remaining tall) over his skis at all times.  His down-hill pole touches could also be more consistent… especially after the normal fatigue of skiing aggressively on challenging terrain.  (So should we all!  8-).

Overall, James is comfortable skiing with a group and gets along well with the other team members.  He is assertive, but not overly so, and he is not afraid to express his wants and concerns.  Kudos!  

In conclusion, he should continue to practice the general ski adage of; 

- both skis-down in contact with the snow, 

- heads-up situational awareness,

- both hands-forward/down-hill/into the next turns.
