Sept 22

Everyone’s help getting the lawn and backyard ready for our scout open house. 

M: He fed the boys a hot breakfast and got them off to school. AND he noticed that the lazy Susan wasn’t working. So, he unloaded the entire thing and fixed it… all while I was on a morning jog.

R: “I always get a better perspective on life when I talk to you.” Julie T. 

J: enjoyed the hike with scouts. 

D: help on the soccer team. 

A: Hard worker, especially with school. 

D: Willingness to do Waterford. 

Sept 15

M: The hours and hours of preparation, energy, focus, and time he is giving to starting this new pack. He is using his experience and skill sets to bless many, many boys and families. 

That he was able to go to the race track and ride his motorcycle. 

R: Hours I have time and energy she is donating to the school for both art and character education and development. 

The way she’s making improvements and updates to our home to keep it nice, warm, and welcoming to the spirit and to those around us. 

J: Loves To serve other people and understands and recognizing the good feelings that he has when he does. He put himself out there, went through the application and interview process, and was still rejected for student council. This is a very disappointing reality. I’m excited for the life skills that he can learn from this and that he can find out opportunities to serve in many places. 

How he loved going to the Thompson‘s house and ministering to their family for the first real time. He is thoughtful and recognizes things that need to be done, for example he took a picture of Derek and will when they were being cute together. 

He’s exhibited both courage and patience as he tries to get together with his friends. 

He epitomizes is the Scout Law in so many ways. He loves the Scouting organization. He is honest, upright, and true to his word. He’s responsible and totally dependable. He’s loyal. 

His good sportsmanship and attitude in playing soccer even though he’d rather be on swim team. And how incredibly helpful and important he was to his team in the game on Saturday. He’s really understanding the game and his position as defender. 

James hasn’t been late for school once this year. On Friday he only had a couple minutes to get to school. When asked about it he said “I ran fast the whole entire way.”

D: As much as he doesn’t want to play soccer this year, I am so cognizant and impressed with his willingness to participate in and to help the team. This is a thoughtful sacrifice on his part. 

A: he is so gentle and understanding with the kitty. Kitty feels safe with him. 

He plays really sweetly with Derek’s little friends. They look up to him and want to be around him. His musical abilities and how much he loved the LPM music songs last night. 

Daniel wasn’t ready for church when we left, so he didn’t get a ride in the van. Instead he had to walk or scooter. And that he did. He quickly got dressed, grabbed his church bag, and rode his scooter to the church building. He even got there on time. 

D: he loves his little friends and is very kind and sweet with them. He loves making new friends and enjoyed meeting Avonlea and playing with her. 

Sept 8

M: stopped to give me support which made him late for scouts. 

R: Willingness to use her skills and energy to coach James a soccer team while his coach is out of town. 

J: initiated doing his homework late at night and by himself. Handled self maturely at soccer practice. Tried to help mediate between and calm down boys who are fighting. He understands that sports are just a game and doesn’t overreact. Plus, he was my emotional support pet and took care of me when I injured my foot. Stands up for Derek and says: stop being rude to Derek. You started the lawnmower all by yourself!

D: Helped keep Derek safe at the park during soccer practice. 

A: Hard worker. He doesn’t give up. Came happily and quickly when asked to wash the dishes. 

D: Good sport, even when feeling sick. 

Sept 1

J: babysitting with gentleness as M&R went to temple. 

D: his love for school, his teachers, learning, and his classmates. 

A: how hard he works in school and at home. 

D: consistently doing is Waterford program even though he doesn’t always want to. 

R: her energy, enthusiasm, and support for the boys in their new school year. She’s made sure that they are properly prepared and are properly organized. 

M: I get compliments about Mike Ball of the time: We sure appreciate your husband, he’s so willing to help out and do anything, especially stuff that no one else can or wants to do. Steph C. Mike knows everything in Ward Council. Like his memorize the church handbook by heart. -Jake F. You two are adorable. You’re an adorable couple. Julie T. 

MJDAD: let me go to Ed week. 

Aug 18

Derek: hiked the whole entire way to Scout Falls while sick. He wanted to stop, he wanted Mike to carry him, but he didn’t whine, and he did it!

Andrew: storytelling skills

Daniel: positive attitude and comments about going back to school. 

James: it was so fun to watch James help me with the filing cabinet. He even knew that we had an electric sander, call dad, found it, set it up, and got it going all by himself. Mowed the yard when he felt really sick. 

Mom: home-improvement projects, including staining, sanding, and finishing the new bench.

Dad: replaced the screen in our drain. I didn’t even have to ask him to. Fixed G&G’s light fixture. 

Aug 11

Everyone: how hard you worked to earn Aspen Grove! And how flexible/ accommodating you were to change plans to CA. Encouraging Mom in Mom Art, helping with beads, meeting with Mrs. Davies, and cleaning the classroom. 

Embracing the FIG program in entirety. 

J: sharing candy at the parade, mr. helpful at the parade and all week. Chores. Built tower to the ceiling! Owning the sink all week and doing the dishes! Using a prayer rock and praying morning and night. Enjoyed Ryan’s eagle project. 

D: good friend. Came home pretty happy to mow the lawn when Dad picked him up from Alpine Days. Stuck with his chalk snake even though he wanted to start a rose. Ryan’s eagle project. Played school with Derek and Andrew. 

A: Enthusiastic and willing to try new things. Ex: limbo last night, paddle boarding on a kayak, kayaking Provo river, swimming laps, chalk dragon, 

D: careful around the water at mile rock. Dressed self for church. Loves his friends like when he saw Cohen at church. 

Dad: driving for LEGO camp, Sunday breakfast, swimming with Derek,

Mom: working out, furnishing house 

Aug 4

Andrew was a happy and helpful big cousin at Thanksgiving Point. And when it was time to go, he was cheerful about it. 

Andrew put on his sandals and gave Derek his shoes when we were out shopping. 

First one cheering at the end of James’s swim lane. 

Andrew is so good at doing things the first time we ask! Like when we asked him to bring in the groceries. 

James was up late and was tired. But he cheerfully got up and helped Christian pain curbs for his eagle project. 

James’s prayers have been so thoughtful. 

Derek helps Will feel welcome by grabbing him by the hand and saying “c’mon Will.”

Daniel played blocks with Derek so Dad could fill the Bishop’s schedule.
